Jamie Kreiner

Associate Dean

As associate dean for the humanities in Franklin College, Jamie Kreiner is the point of contact for the departments of Classics, Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies, Germanic & Slavic Studies, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Religion, and Romance Languages; as well as for the African Studies Institute, the Center for Asian Studies, the Institute for Native American Studies, and the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute.

Dr. Kreiner received her PhD in History from Princeton University in 2011, and she joined the history faculty at UGA in 2012. Her research focuses on Europe and the Mediterranean in the early Middle Ages, from political elites to pigs. At present she's working on a project about early Christian monks and their frustrations with distraction.
