About this Degree

The Bachelor of Arts in Music offers students a versatile liberal arts education within the context of musical training. The flexible structure of this degree plan fosters intellectual engagement with many disciplines. As such, it is particularly well suited for musically talented students who have additional academic interests and/or desire a flexible career trajectory, making this degree a perfect candidate for those interested in obtaining a double major from our university.

Students holding a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Music are prepared to enter a variety of fields. The degree provides a foundation for such professional pursuits as studio teaching, music business, arts administration, performance, and church music. Students are also prepared for graduate study in music or other disciplines that accept a general liberal arts degree for entry. Students holding this degree have successfully pursued graduate study in the fields of law, medicine, business, computer science, and others.
