Happy Days

By:
Alan Flurry

UGA Theatre presents Happy Days, by directed by George Contini, streaming Oct. 29-30 at 8 p.m.

MFA Graduate Student Robyn Accetta plays Winnie in Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days. Buried to the waist with the earth threatening to swallow her whole, Winnie’s persistent optimism seemingly guards her from the inevitable chaos of the human spirit. Shifting from strange to practical, from mysterious to factual, Winnie’s plight is a testament to modern drama.

UGA Theatre is streaming the show using ATT/IBM's streaming platform, which provides great video and audio quality. The show will be streamed at 8 pm EST this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (Oct. 28-30). There is no charge for the production. Tickets are pay-what-you-will, recommended $2 for students and $5 for non-students, to recoup streaming cost. Professor Contini says, "but don't let the cost stop you; if you're not in a position to pay right now, that's fine." Tickets here: https://live.ugatheatre.com/shows/
