Linguistics

Not a language itself, but rather the scientific study of languages, linguistics is a popular double major for not just language students, but also students in many other fields such as cognitive science, computer science, or communication sciences and disorders.

At UGA, you can major or minor in linguistics, with electives available to students in all disciplines. UGA also offers a master’s and PhD in linguistics.
