Languages at UGA

Greek

Classical Greek is a foundational language for the study of history, medicine, philosophy, religion, and science and its reception in the Renaissance through the modern era. At UGA, Classical Greek is available as an area of emphasis within the Classics major. It’s also available as a minor, with electives available to students in other disciplines. At the graduate level, students can pursue an MA in Classics with areas of concentration in Greek and Greek and Latin.
