2017 in the Franklin Chronicles

234 posts in 2017 as of yesterday, and because we love a numerical sequence, let's look back today at some of our favorite news stories that appeared here this year, starting with the turn of the New Year:

On January 6, Assistant professor in the department of sociology Sarah Shannon had her work cited in a Harvard Law Review article authored by President Barack Obama, The President’s Role in Advancing Criminal Justice Reform

January 11 - $1.3 million grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation will allow Franklin researchers (led by Mary Ann Moran) to uncover answers about an important metabolic link that takes place in the Earth's oceans

January 31 - Trowelblazers, an international collaboration dedicated to outreach activities aimed at encouraging participation of women and underrepresented groups in archaeological, geological, and palaeontological science, convened and participated in panels discussing women in science at the Royal Society and the London Feminist Conference

February 10 - Cinema Politique
