Our reliance on technology, hardware and software, seems beyond complete at this point. A contradiction maybe, but it illustrates the continual pressure under which a discipline like computer science operates - educating people in an always-expanding range of scientific and practical paradigms in computation and its applications.
One of the 30 departments in the Franklin College, Computer Science is a robust unit that serves a variety of students at every level, where faculty engage with colleagues around campus to contribute to research and which boasts a distinguished faculty of its own that brings great distinction to UGA with awards, grants and new programs.
And all of this is now wonderfully presented on the new computer science website, launched this past fall. Our Franklin College Office of Information Technology has been working diligently to transition many of our unit sites to a new design format, allowing for better functionality at the unit level and greater ease in sharing the important work of our Franklin College departments.
Have a look, check it out. Thanks to our IT colleagues for their fine work and we look forward to the unveiling of more new sites in the future.
