The theme for this year’s conference is Religion and Sustainable Socio-Cultural and Economic Development within the 21st Century in Africa and Its Diaspora.  This year’s conference honors Ibigbolade Aderibigbe, UGA Professor Emeritus of Religion and African Studies, and BICAID co-convener from 2012 to 2021. The conference will also feature a plenary panel on Aderibigbe’s scholarship and presentation of a festschrift edited by two of his former students. UGA Professor of Religion and former head of the department of Religion Sandy Martin will be the book discussant.
