Dr. Shennette Garrett-Scott from Texas A & M will present a history lecture, "All the Other Devils This Side of Hades: Jim Crow and Early Black Banks."

Garrett-Scott's research focuses on late 19th- and early 20th-century race, gender, and capitalism. Her first book, Banking on Freedom, is the first history of U.S. banking and finance that centers African American women.
