Education Program Intern - Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia - Added 4/26
Education interns at the Georgia Museum of Art are responsible for supporting a range of educational and outreach initiatives for museum visitors of all ages, including PK-12 tours, youth and family programs, and community and public events. Summer education interns will be trained as gallery teachers for the museum’s free Art Adventures program, which serves kids from Athens-area day cares, day camps and community centers. Art Adventures visits take place during the week in June and July, and feature interactive gallery tours, games and a hands-on art activity. Under the guidance of education staff, summer gallery teaching interns will learn strategies for engaging groups in object-based learning, facilitate tours and lead students in art-making projects to expand on gallery experiences. This summer’s program will focus on multi-sensory explorations of the permanent collection, highlighting works from the Terra Foundation’s Collections-in-Residence program.

Assistant House Manager - Hugh Hodgson School of Music and Performing Arts Center - Added 11/17/2023
The assistant house manager (AHM) is responsible for house managing performances by Hugh Hodgson School of Music ensembles, assisting the PAC Patron Services Manager (PSM) during PAC season events, as well as some rental performances. The AHM may also be asked to manage the concession stand when the need arises. The AHM is either the sole or one of the front-of-house points of contact for patrons, artists, and ushers during events.

This position works as part of the Teen Services Team to oversee daily activities, engage after-school teens in projects and programs in the library’s Teen Area, and to plan and provide appealing, meaningful programming for teen-aged patrons.

Student Workers with Experience UGA in the Mary Frances Early College of Education - Added 11/10/2023
Student workers with Experience UGA in the Mary Frances Early College of Education, work with kindergarten children from elementary schools in the Clarke County School District using lesson plans designed to teach measuring and related concepts (tall/short, long/short, big/little). Student workers typically lead a small group of children through activities, help bring the children from the bus into the College, and assist with their departure. Student workers are also responsible for set up prior to the session and clean up afterwards. Attending a training session and passing a background check are required. Qualified student workers will be scheduled on an as needed basis.

Grounds Historic Preservationist Student Assistant with the UGA Facilities Management Division - Added 10/26/2023
This position will assist the Grounds Department Historic Preservationist with the following tasks: preventative maintenance of the historic landscape features of the UGA Athens campus (e.g., Arch, Chapel Bell, North Campus wrought iron fence, Old Athens Cemetery), Lucy Cobb and HSC; document maintenance activities; give tours and class lectures; and maintain resource parts inventories for the Chapel Bell, the Arch, the Old Athens Cemetery, North Campus wrought iron fence, and other historic resources.

The student writer will work in the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES), assisting in the dissemination of news and information about the college to the campus and news media. This position offers the opportunity to learn and write about on topics including research, instruction and UGA Cooperative Extension programs within the college, as well as issues-based articles, profiles, event stories, human interest articles and news. Writing will be shared across multiple channels to include the CAES Newswire, Cultivate, Almanac and other CAES and UGA communication platforms. Writing includes media releases, web content, research stories, faculty and student profiles, and feature stories.
