Leadership for Support Teams

Thank you to everyone who took part in the interviews for the Financial Affairs Support Team manager and the Research Enterprise Support Team manager positions. Your insight and input served as a valuable resource for the search committee when making the final selections. 

Please join us in welcoming Jill Kort, Jane Worley and Jill Talmadge to the Franklin Works: Business Service leadership team.

Jill Kort is the leader for the Financial Affairs Support (FAST) team. Jill has twenty years of experience at UGA, beginning her career in the Office of Vice President for Research Business and then moving to the College of Family and Consumer Sciences Business Affairs office. Most recently, she served as the business manager in the Department of Computer Science. In her role as Financial Affairs Support Team manager, she will lead a team of ~15 staff that will provide financial management by preparing financial forecasts, analysis and reports for Franklin College departments.

Jane Worley is the leader for the Research Enterprise Support Team. Jane has been a member of the Franklin College Business Office for almost three years and prior to that served as the Grants Coordinator in the Geography department. As the Research Enterprise Support Team manager, Jane will lead a team of ~15 grants and contracts professionals that will provide pre- and post- award support for all of the principal investigators in the Franklin College. This team will serve as the liaisons between Franklin College and the Sponsored Projects Administration office.

Jill Talmadge started at UGA in 2011 and for the last seven years has been the business manager in the department of Comparative Literature and Intercultural Studies. She is an alumna of the University of Georgia with a bachelors degree in Environmental Science. In her role as Personnel and Payroll Team manager, she will lead a team of ~6 professionals that will provide operational support to units by processing personal and payroll actions

Congratulations, Jill, Jane, and Jill, on becoming inaugural members of the leadership team for Franklin Works: Business Service.

Please join us in welcoming Amanda Cummings to the Franklin Works: Business Service leadership team. In her role as the Business Services Center manager, she will lead a team of ~10 professionals who will support our faculty, staff and students with the  processing of financial transactions including travel authorizations and reimbursements, expense reports, UGAMart procurement requisitions, invoice payments, procurement card reconciliations, payment requests, journal vouchers and cash deposits. 

Amanda began her career at UGA as a Research Technician in Plant Biology.  After two years in the lab, she transitioned to the senior accountant in the main office, assisting faculty, staff and students with travel and purchasing requests. Amanda earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology from San Diego State University and spent three years in private industry before joining UGA.
