Majors and Minors

Student working with scientific equipmentFranklin College houses 80+ degree programs within its departments, including three of the most popular UGA majors: Biology, Computer Science, and Psychology. Our courses span a wide variety of careers and vocations, and the college regularly produces nearly half of the credit hours earned at the university. It is common for our students to be double or even triple majors, tacking on minors and certificates. Discover all of our available programs on the Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees page below.

Advising

Students sitting with advisorOur award winning advisors foster an environment of trust, respect, and mutual responsibility while encouraging students to develop an appreciation for the enduring value of the interdisciplinary opportunities of the arts and sciences. Your advisor is the only person on campus you are required to meet with at least once each semester. They can answer your questions about degree requirements, major changes, and more. You can schedule a meeting with your advisor (and see who they are!) by logging into SAGE. If you do not have an advisor in SAGE, you can email askfranklin@uga.edu

Housed by the Office of Global Engagement, UGA StudyAway is your avenue to pursue educational experiences in an off-campus setting, internationally or domestically. With all of the different programs offered, you can study almost anywhere in the world! There are some opportunities that are sponsored by Franklin College specifically (you can find these by narrowing down the parameters), but students are not limited to those in their decision. OGE has worked hard to demystify the process of studying away and make it accessible. First-year students are also eligible to participate in Spring Break programs exclusively for them through Connect Abroad.

Careers & Internships

Student being advised by Career CounselorFor Franklin College students, the question isn’t: “What can I do with <fill in the blank> degree?” Instead, the question is: “Where do you want to go?” Because no matter the answer, your degree from Franklin College of Arts and Sciences can help get you there. We teach you HOW to think, not what to think. And increasingly, employers are looking for talent with broad skillsets who can tackle complex problems, communicate effectively, and think critically.
