Congratulations to students, staff, and faculty in our community for their many extraordinary and distinguishing feats of intellect, athleticism, and artistry. A sampling from November:

On Friday, Oct. 28, three University of Georgia students clinched a victory in the Capital One College Bowl, a multi-week trivia competition hosted by Peyton Manning and Cooper Manning. Broadcast nationally on NBC, seniors Aidan Leahy (Double Dawg student from Suwanee studying history and Portuguese and earning his Master of Public Administration), Elijah Odunade and Layla Parsa defeated reigning College Bowl champion Columbia University and will each receive $125,000 in scholarship winnings for their success

UGA's Natalie Navarrete, a senior in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Public and International Affairs, majoring in international affairs, Russian and Spanish with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, was named a 2023 Rhodes Scholar

Gene Brody, Regents’ Professor in the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research, will be presented with a lifetime achievement award from the Association for Psychological Science in May 2023

Fuad Elhage, a lecturer of Spanish at UGA, and Stephanie Lynn, director of the web services team in the Franklin College OIT, were featured in BOOM magazine for their Argentine Tango collaboration

The Italian Opera Singers in Mozart's Vienna by Dorothea Link, professor emerita of musicology in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, was published by​ the University of Illinois Press

Native American students made history on November 11, 2022, hosting the first-ever PowWow on UGA grounds since the school's charter in 1785

The Department of Dance and Young Choreographers Series presented its Senior Exit and Emerging Choreographers Showcase, “Endure,” in the New Dance Theatre in the Dance Building from Nov. 10-12 

Ribbon cutting ceremonies marked the opening of the 14,600-square-foot University of Georgia MFA Film Program student studio space at Athena Studios

The new Director of Bands Nicholas Enrico Williams made his UGA debut leading the Wind Ensemble in concert with “Music From Around the World”

And with a 37-14 win over Georgia Tech at Sanford Stadium, the top-ranked Georgia football team completed a second straight undefeated regular season
