Paula Lemons

Sr. Associate Dean

As the Sr. Associate Dean, Paula Lemons oversees academic initiatives: graduate and undergraduate; curriculum, special projects, shared corporate/business engagement (internships), PRAC, student learning outcomes, VIP, and scholarships: graduate and undergraduate.

Dr. Lemons is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and serves as the Director of the Scientists Engaged in Education Research (SEER) Center and executive committee member of the Owens Institute for Behavioral Research. She conducts research in undergraduate STEM education, focusing on the development of conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, evidence-based pedagogies, professional development as a context for instructor learning, and institutional change in higher education. Dr. Lemons leads the UGA DeLTA project that seeks to shift undergraduate education toward evidence-based decision making, continuous improvement, active collaboration and communication about teaching, and promoting diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice.
