The University of Georgia Alumni Association has unveiled the 40 Under 40 Class of 2022. This year’s outstanding group includes six alumni from the Franklin College, that will profile individually, beginning today with AdeSubomi Adeyemo, Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

Adeyemo (B.S. '11) is a triple dawg, the first individual to complete the dual doctor of pharmacy and master of public health program.

  • Appointed as a Presidential Management Fellow in CDC’s division of global HIV & TB where she provided support for Kenya, Uganda, and Angola through the President’s emergency plan for AIDS relief program, focusing on the supply chain management of HIV & TB commodities.
  • Joined the division of HIV/AIDS prevention in 2020 to support the epidemiology branch. In 2021 she joined the division of parasitic diseases and malaria through the epidemic intelligence service fellowship.
  • Prior to joining CDC she worked as a full-time retail pharmacist and has maintained part-time involvement while employed at CDC.

 Community Involvement

  • Co-founded a community outreach program focused on educating elementary students about the importance of self-monitoring of health, preventative care, medication safety, and higher education in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines.
  • Delivers monthly seminars and mentorship sessions to pharmacy schools, and students on rotations at the CDC, Food and Drug Administration, and Office of Personnel Management about different career opportunities for pharmacists in public health.
  • Participates in quarterly community health fairs as a provider that performs glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol screenings as well as medication therapy management services.

Congratulations Dr. Adeyemo! We are very proud of your wonderful accomplishments and look forward to your career as it continues to unfold.
