Franklin College students and faculty continue to distinguish themselves with the highest honors and accomplishments. A sample from the month of February:

Associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology Zachary Wood is among three UGA faculty members to receive Richard B. Russell Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching, UGA’s highest early career teaching honor.

Georgia Debate Union at Miami University tourney

Teams representing the Georgia Debate Union earned second and fifth place at the University of Miami intercollegiate debate tournament recently held in Miami, Florida.  The college debate tournament featured over 30 teams from 12 colleges and universities across the Southeast, Midwest, and mid-Atlantic, including the US Naval Academy and Vanderbilt University.

Franklin College faculty, staff, students and alumni continue to distinguish themselves and the university with awards, honors and accolades. Here are a few from the summer:

“Destruction Was My Beatrice: Dada and the Unmaking of the Twentieth Century,” is reviewed by The Economist and Los Angeles Times. Author Jed Rasula is the Helen S. Lanier Distinguished Professor and English department head.

Tremendous accomplishments by Franklin faculty of late, as noted below. But we share our our top item with great pride and no small measure of sadness as the Franklin College bids farewell and good luck to one of our great colleagues, Linda Bachman, as she begins an important new job at UGA:
