Eligibility:
- An applicant must be an undergraduate student or graduate student in the Franklin College majoring in Art, Drama, or Music. The applicant must be in good standing at the time of submission of this application, as well as during any semester he/she is eligible to receive scholarship funds. The selection criteria will be based on academic achievement, and while any student is eligible to apply, preference will be given to females 35 years of age or older.
- A one-page letter of application, which includes educational and career goals, must be submitted along with the attached form.
- Two letters of recommendation attesting to an applicant’s personal attributes and/or academic qualifications must accompany the application. These letters are confidential and must be enclosed in sealed envelopes containing the signature of the person making the recommendation across the sealed flap. At least one of the letters must be from a UGA faculty member. The quality of these letters of recommendation is extremely important in this process. The people selected are asked to include in their letters of recommendation their relationship to the applicant and the length of time they have known the applicant. Letters from relatives are discouraged.
- If 1-3 above are met, then a student is eligible to be considered
for a Fall 2008 and/or Spring 2009 Scholarship. A scholarship
recipient will remain eligible for this scholarship without reapplication,
as long as he/she remains in good standing academically.
