Michael's responsibilities include developing applications for intranet and internet use, creating and managing databases, and desktop and network support. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with an AB in Music and a BS in Mathematics, and has also done graduate work in Computer Science. One of the applications he developed has won a national award for innovation in advising technology. He also was recently named to the board of the United States PostgreSQL Association.

Michael is an Athens native, and is active in many community organizations.
