Staff Awards & Staff Appreciation

Thanks to all the many colleagues who attended the 2018 Franklin College Staff Awards reception at the Miller Learning Center. As dispersed as the college is, it's always great to see so many of our co-workers in one place. After an opening welcome from Dean Dorsey, the following Staff Excellence in Service Awards were presented to:

Kendra Freeman, presented by Lesley G. Feracho, Interim director, African American Studies

Shannon Kennedy, presented by Lisa Donovan, department head, Plant Biology

Kristina Petti, presented by Alex Sager, department head, Germanic & Slavic Studies (pictured)

And Louise Seagraves, who could bo be with us but whose award was presented by Dean Dorsey and accepted on her behalf by her colleague in the department of psychology, Renee Moore

Senior Associate Dean Kecia Thomas presented the Staff Excellence in Diversity Leadership Award to Kathy Lou of the department of sociology.

Executive director of the the Franklin College Office of Information technology presented the IT Professional of the Year Award to Nathan Cooper.

Director of the Franklin College Office of Student Academic Services Diane Miller presented the Outstanding Academic Advisor of the Year Award to Christina Rowland.

Associate Dean Jean Martin-Williams presented Years of Service Recognitions to staff who reached milestones of service for Franklin College in 2018 for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years.

A terrific ceremony (with great food) to celebrate our colleagues. And don't forget UGA Staff Appreciation Day on Thursday May 10 beginning at 10 am at the Intramural fields.
