Experiential Learning Endowment Fund helping students

Research has shown that experiences such as service-learning, internships, undergraduate research and study abroad enhance academic performance and better prepare students for employment or graduate and professional school. To ensure that all students benefit from experiences such as these, in 2016 the University of Georgia became the largest public university in America to require students to engage in hands-on learning prior to graduation.

This is a great part of the Commit to Georgia Campaign. The UGA experiential learning initiative, concluding its first year as a university-wide requirement for the incoming freshman class, originally began (like so many great ideas!) in the Franklin College. There's good reason that it was broadened - its effective and important for students - and this further innovation goes the next step in making internships possible where they might not be. Great program. #yourpath #your passion
