My responsibilities as Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences include overseeing the supplemental instructional budget of the College, which funds graduate teaching and laboratory assistants and non-tenure track faculty involved in instruction. In conjunction with Ms. Barbara Carlson, I monitor enrollment figures each semester and work closely with the departments needing additional instructional resources. I also coordinate the undergraduate instructional program of the College at the Gwinnett and Griffin campuses.

I serve as the primary liaison between the Dean's Office and the departments in the mathematical (Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics) and physical (Chemistry, Geology, and Physics) sciences; in this role I interview prospective faculty members and handle requests for leaves and Graduate Faculty status. My other duties include prioritizing and scheduling renovations of physical facilities, monitoring space utilization, handling faculty requests for Study in a Second Discipline, and coordinating the undergraduate Interdisciplinary Studies Program. Finally, in consultation with the other Associate Deans, I process applications for technology grants and provide oversight on matters relating to technology.
